Saxon Crown Swimming Club was established in 1975, as a result of a merger of three clubs in the area, to promote and support swimming as a sport in the London Borough of Lewisham. Past and present club members have progressed from learning to swim within the Club to national, regional and county champions and competitors.
The Club is also proud to have trained a number of swimmers who have represented the U.K.

The Club provide swimming lessons for children from the age of 5 upwards which follow the Amateur Swimming Association National Plan for teaching. If you wish to view this, please click here.
The Learn to Swim section provide water confidence and a basic knowledge
of 4 competitive strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle),
ready for entry into the development side of the Club.

At next level of progress within the Club, swimmers gain increased stamina in preparation into the Club’s competition squads and between the ages of 10-13 they can be selected by the Head Coach to compete in the Kent Junior League.
In the more competitive squads, swimmers progress from inter-club galas to County, District and National competitions.
The Club regularly has representatives in Kent County teams.
Saxon Crown Swimming Club also competes in the Speedo League and regularly
provides swimmers for the annual BAA London Youth Games and Mini Games.

Each year the Club travels to several inter-club galas, but also organises and run a number of swimming competitions taking place in its own pool.
These range from our one day swimming Open – Future Champions, which over the years proved to be a very popular and successful event attracting a large number of swimmers, to invitation team galas that take up a Saturday evening.

Swimmers are also expected to enter Open Meets that the Club supports.

The Club believes in being as wide-ranging as possible and is one of the few that
has dedicated squads and groups for disabled swimmers that are fully integrated within the Club structure.
The Club has links with a local disabled swimming club, The Sharks.

Saxon Crown is a member of London Swimming.
