Joshua’s report from British Para-Swimming
My first event was the 100m freestyle where I swum just outside my entry time but well enough to gain a place in the final in the evening . During the final I improved my entry time by 0.6 of a second and came 30th.
In the 100m breaststroke I swam well and improved my entry time by 2 seconds
On day 2, I swum just outside my entry time in the 100m backstroke
On the third day ,I swum really well in the 100m butterfly with a PB but unfortunately I was disqualified thus unable to take my place in what would have been the third fastest lane for the final
On my last day I had the 50 free and the 200 IM . In the 50 free I swum a good heat sneaking under my submitted time . In the final I swum 0.5 seconds slower
In the 200 IM I was DQ because of my leg kick .
Overall I had a mixed week but am pleased that I got into two finals in an elite competition with 25 other top para swimmers reaching Rio QTs.
