Fantastic performances from Saxon Crown swimmers for Team Lewisham at the London Youth Games Swimming and Aquathlon events. Team Lewisham scored more than double the points in the swimming achieved last year and the Aquathlon team came a very respectable 4th.
A very decent third for Saxon Crown at the KJL hosted by RTW Monson at Tunbridge Wells.
A huge thanks to all who took part in and sponsored the "Swim the Channel" event that raised £6,800 for Jess.
That's 3 in a row as Saxon Crown lead by 20 points in the White Horse League. The final round is on 6th July, see you there!
Saturday 1 June saw Saxon Masters gather at Glassmill for their inaugural home gala. Aimed at getting more Masters into competing, the event was a great success, saw many PBs and squad records set, and ended with some relay practice! Thanks to the club for their support.
Kevin with Erin, Jess and "Snazzypants" Ted as team Jess win the Swim the Channel Race beating tough competition from the likes of team Dover and Team Calais. Swimmers, parents, coaches, friends and family all turned up on Sunday to do their bit for Jess in the Channel Swim Challenge. As well as between everyone we managed to complete the distance it was a really fun social occasion.
A Successful day for our small but mighty Saxon Crown Masters team at the EDSC meet at Crook Log. We won gold in the 85-89 men's, silver in the 50-54 women's, Kent medals for 1,500 free (gold), 200 free (gold and bronze), 200 breast (bronze), plus a handful of PBs in back, free and fly.
A fabulous evening was had by all at the Saxon Crown Presentation evening. The volunteer of the year award going to Tom Gardiner. Well done Tom!!!
After the older swimmers regionals last weekend it was the turn of our younger up and coming swimmers to shine at the RTSC National Qualifier Open Gala at Crawley and here's Ashanti showing off her bronze medal for the 50m fly.

There was a record amount of lost property left behind at the Saxon Crown Spring Challenge this year. A record number of clubs managed to contribute. As well as that a record number of swimmers competed from clubs all over London and surrounding Boroughs. On Friday 14th March over 270 swimmers from twenty-seven of the Borough’s primary schools arrive at Glass Mill Leisure Centre to compete in this year’s Lewisham Primary School Gala. The event was organised by Saxon Crown Swimming Club, supported by Lewisham Council and GLL, who provided pool space and staff free of charge. For a few years now Team Saxon made a presence at Kent County competitions. Going from strength to strength even in 2025 it was great to see many more swimmers fast enough to participate in this tough event. And we did not disappoint.40 of our fastest athletes amongst which some new qualifiers competed in 214 events performing incredibly well swimming many pbs and regional times and making 88 top 10 finals in all stroke and distances, achieving 6 bronze, 10 silver and 3 gold medals making us top 8/9(points not updated after 1500 event yet) club in Kent compared to 14th last year. Moreover swimmers showed great determination, team sprint and commeraderie cheering at every event as well as competing at their best.
It is a joy to see so many happy and succesful swimmers wearing the colors of Saxon Crown and making coaches proud!
