Over forty Saxon swimmers travelled to Crook Log to compete in the Erith Super Sunday Sprint. The meet is all 50s and each swimmer had to compete in all four 50s for their age group.

The first morning session of the day was for swimmers aged 9-10 years. All our swimmers did so well, so many PBs – some of our young swimmers achieving new PBs in all events. Congratulations to the following swimmers who received medals for their efforts: Fiachra Brady backstroke and fly, Ruth Allen breaststroke and freestyle and Freya Sheard, freestyle silver medallist who also took medals in backstroke and breaststroke.

The second morning session saw our 11–12-year-old swimmers compete. Another excellent round of many new PBs achieved with the following swimmers receiving medals: Selin Nebioglu for her freestyle, Sia Kenton bronze for fly, Paris Fairhurst gold medallist in freestyle and Ayotunde Dauda gold medallist in breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle.

The third and final session of the day saw our 13+ swimmers compete. Again, many excellent swims and new PBs achieved with the following swimmers picking up various medals: Timi Adelolwo bronze for backstroke, Kombo Kachidza bronze for breaststroke and silver for fly, Abdul-Aziz Bakar silver for freestyle and gold for breaststroke, Alfie Horbacki silver for backstroke and gold for fly, Ellie Harden gold in backstroke, James Sugrue bronze in backstroke and gold in fly and, to top it all, Team Captain Erin O’Hara silver for freestyle, gold for breaststroke and fly also picking up the trophy for Girls 16 and Over Champion.

Thank you to all our swimmers who travelled down to Crook Log and made it such a brilliant day. Last, but certainly not least, massive thanks to Kombo and Marlena Assistant Coaches on the morning sessions and to Erin, Callum, Ellie and James (this season’s Captains and Vice-Captains) whose help was greatly appreciated during the afternoon session.
