London Youth Games is Europe’s largest youth sports festival and takes place over nine months, including both school and community competitions across 30 different sports and 90 different disciplines. Each year 33 London Boroughs compete for the much-coveted Jubilee Trophy, the ultimate prize in our Open Games.

Sunday 3rd July saw Lewisham’s 18-strong team arrive at LAC to compete in this year’s London Youth Games’ Aquathlon. Massive thanks to all competed for their great efforts, especially our seniors whose run took place in very hot sunshine. Finishing 11th on the day, the team were just short of a top ten place.

The following weekend on Saturday 9th July, Lewisham’s Swim team travelled up to LAC with a 19-strong Junior team and 17- Strong Senior team. Delighted to see so many new PBs achieved amongst our swimmers and to see such camaraderie and fantastic support for one another. Katie Weekly and Henry Norman came fourth in the individual 50 BK, Erin took bronze for her 50BR and Kal-El gold for his 50 BK. Lewisham currently stands 12th overall on the league table.
