Two weddings in the Master’s section have been celebrated by outdoor swimming parties: mixing swimming and camaraderie, and drinks in nearby hostelries. With most of the emphasis on the swimming, of course… Many congratulations to Lara and Emma!

Superb results in the Masters National Championships in Sheffield at end October. John Tennant competed solo and with his previous Birmingham club colleagues and smashed a number of records, including a world record, in races of a variety of distances! Watch out Jane Asher, and time to prepare the acceptance speech at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, John?!

Lauren Willcox turned in gold medal winning performances too, and even a lifetime best time. Incredible!

And another hardy sub-set visited Canary Wharf for a night-time spooky open water swim on 31 October, chilling literally (with the water temperature at 14.5C) and Halloween-themed swimwear to scare away most spectators…

Upcoming – social drinks monthly, open water swimming events, and the big event in January, the South East Regional Long Course Championships. Prepare for more record breaking performances in 2023!
