In November we said goodbye to Wojtek Slusarczyk as Head Coach and were very pleased to welcome Sergio
Catania to the position. Sergio has a wealth of experience as a swimmer and has been a successful Head Coach
at multiple clubs: HC for Orpington Ojays (7 years), HC Black Lion (3 years), HC Imperial College swimming (4
years), HC Fastfins Swim school (4 years).

Talking about his appointment as Head coach for Saxon Crown Sergio said “I already
admired the friendliness of the Club when I was part of the coaching team last year and
I am now delighted to have the chance to guide Saxon Crown as the new head coach.
I have worked as a coach for almost thirty years and never felt at home like I do now. I
share with the Club the philosphy of a community where everyone is important and
I feel Saxon Crown is a hidden gem in the world of swimming. Swimming is a hard sport
but fun when done with a smile. There is no more satisfying feeling than seeing
swimmers happy to spend time together working hard to achieve their goals!
I look forward to a long productive collaboration with swimmers and parents for a more
successful Club.”

We are sure you will all join the committee in giving Sergio a very warm welcome to the
club. We believe Sergio will help the club grow and develop over the coming years.
The club has a new committee and head coach who are determined to build a successful
club where swimmers of all ages can both enjoy the experience and achieve their
ambitions
