In January some of our Masters swimmers braved the chilly weather to head down to the South East Region Long Course Masters competition at K2 Crawley.
Lauren Willcox got Saxon's 2022 off to a great start, winning gold in the 35-39 years 200m freestyle in a new Kent long course record of 2:17:16 (beating ex-Saxon Jenny Pearson's old record, set in 2016!). Kat Stevens won bronze in the 40-44 years 400m freestyle, also setting a Kent record in 6:03:43. Kat also came 5th in the 100m freestyle.
Entries are now open for the 2022 Erith & District Masters Meet, at Crook Log Leisure centre on Sunday 15th May. It's a relaxed and friendly meet, and a great opportunity to set an official masters time. The closing date for entries is 22nd April but note that it's first come first served, and some events fill up more quickly than others! We expect a few Saxons to attend - if you'd like to join a relay team, contact Kat Stevens.

The Kent County Championships 2024 included 31 Saxon Crown qualifiers and they did us proud achieving 78 PBs, 59 top 10 finalists and 7 bronze medalists.
The boys and girls teams both finished in15th place giving us an overall placing of 14th amongst the 36 clubs in Kent. Well done all and special congratulations to the following for achieving bronze medals!
